Reminder/Recall Opt-Out

Providers can request that their patient populations not be included in state-generated reminder/recall notifications. This opt-out option can be set by a provider or state Registry Client user at the Organization (IRMS)/Facility level. Patients can also opt-out of reminder/recall at the patient level, but the default is opt-in.

NOTE: The Administration > Settings > Properties > Patient Settings > Enable Organization (IRMS)/Facility Settings for Opt-In/Opt-Out of State-Wide Reminder/Recall Activities option must be enabled (selected) for these settings links to appear in the menu..

To opt-in or -out of state-generated reminder/recall notifications, Registry Client users first need to select an Organization (IRMS) and (optionally) a Facility. Then, depending on whether the action is for an Organization (IRMS) or Facility, click on the Settings > Organization (IRMS) or Settings > Facility link in the menu (the Default Vaccine Management permission is required to access these links). Either the Organization (IRMS) Settings page or the Facility Settings page opens. Select the Opt Out of State-Wide Reminder Recall for Your Organization (IRMS) (or Facility) option to enable the opt-out status.

If this option is not available on the settings page, the Administration > Settings > Properties > Patient Settings > Enable Organization (IRMS)/Facility Settings for Opt-In/Opt-Out of State-Wide Reminder/Recall Activities option has not been enabled by the IIS administrator.

Once the Opt-Out option is enabled for the Organization (IRMS) or Facility, the patients owned by that Organization (IRMS) or Facility are not included in reminder/recall notification patient lists unless the Override Opt-Out Settings for Organization (IRMS)/Facility option is selected on the first Reminder/Recall page. If the Administration > Settings > Properties > Patient Settings > Enable Organization (IRMS)/Facility Settings for Opt-In/Opt-Out of State-Wide Reminder/Recall Activities option is later disabled (deselected), the Organization (IRMS)/Facility's opt-in or -out settings are not affected; the option is just not available for continued use. If the option no longer appears on the settings page and the user needs to change the previously configured opt-in or opt-out settings, contact the IIS administrator for assistance.
