If an immunization does not meet criteria during the immunization history evaluation process, vaccination warnings and invalid reasons identify why.
The warnings indicates that the immunization is acceptable in the series and does not need to be repeated, but was perhaps given as off-label (not meeting the vaccine licensure recommendation), or at an interval earlier than the recommended minimum interval.
Immunization warnings are based on guidance from the CDC National Immunization Program and may not be documented in the ACIP Guidelines.
An immunization flagged with an invalid vaccination reason did not meet the minimum criteria for satisfying the dose in the series schedule and must be repeated.
The following table contains vaccination warning and invalid reason descriptions:
