Add/Edit an ILI Record

Follow these instructions to add or edit an ILI record.

Add a New ILI Record

To add a new ILI record, first click the Home > ILI tab, then click the New button. The Influenza Like Illness page opens. Enter the parameters and click Continue. The Influenza Like Illness (New) page opens.

The available fields, options, and buttons on the Influenza-Like Illness page are as follows:

Field/Option/Button Description
District Selection Click this button to select the facility district.
X (close) Click the X button to close the page and return to the main ILI tab page.
Date * Enter the date or select the date from the calendar that appears when the page opens. Do not use a date in the future. Today's date is the default date. This field is required.
Facility Name * Select the facility name from the drop-down list. To filter the facility name list, click the District Selection button to select the district of the facilities. This field is required.

After clicking Continue, the Influenza Like Illness (New) page opens. Enter the parameters and click Submit. To reset all of the options to their default values and start over, click Reset. To return to the main ILI tab page, click Cancel.

The available fields, options, and buttons on the Influenza-Like Illness (New) page are as follows:

Field/Option/Button Description
Date The date when the ILI data was created. This is a read-only field.
MMWR The Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report week number and year for when the case was created. This is a read-only field.
Facility Name The name of the facility. This is a read-only field.
County The county of the facility. This is a read-only field.
Public Health District The public health district of the facility. This is a read-only field.
CDC ILI Number The CDC ILI number of the facility. This is a read-only field.
Total Number of Patients Seen Enter the total number of patients seen at the facility, both ILI and non-ILI patients.
Age Summary Categories Enter the total number of ILI patients for each age group. The Total ILI field keeps a running total.

  • 5-24 years
  • 25-49 years
  • 50-64 years
  • 65+ years
Submit Click this button to save the information.
Submit & Create New (Blank) Click this button to save the information and start over a new record.
Submit & Create New (Same Facility) Click this button to save the information and start over a new record for the same facility.
Submit & Create New (Same Date) Click this button to save the information and start over a new record for the same date.

Edit an ILI Record

To edit an ILI record, first click the Home > ILI tab, then search for the record and/or locate the record in the list, and click the Edit button. The Influenza Like Illness (Editing Existing Record) page opens with that entry's details pre-populated in the fields. Make any necessary changes and click Submit when finished. To cancel without saving any changes, click Cancel. To reset all of the options to their default values and start over, click Reset. To export all the changes made to the ILI record as a CSV file, click Audit. Click the X button to return to the main ILI tab page.
