Geographical mappings can be made between cities, counties, public health districts, districts, states, and zip codes for use within the application.
To create or edit a geographical mapping, click the General Configuration > Geographical Mapping Management menu link, which opens the Geographical Mapping Management page and displays a list of current mappings. The list can be sorted by city, county, public health district, district, state, or zip code by clicking on the column header. Under the list of current mappings, the number of mappings displayed on the page is listed (for example, Showing 1 to 10 of 601 entries) and on the right side of that line are previous and forward arrows. Click the arrows as needed to display any additional mappings.
To create a new geographical mapping, click the New button. See the Create a Geographical Mapping section below for more information.
To export the list of current mappings, click the Export button. This list of current mappings is exported as a CSV file.
The columns and options on the Geographical Mapping Management page are as follows:
Column/Option | Description |
Show ___ entries | Select from the drop-down list the number of entries to display on the page: 10, 25, 50 or 100. |
Search | Enter a few characters of the city, county, public health district, district, state, or zip code in the search field to narrow the list of diseases. The list automatically filters based on what is entered in the field. |
City | The name of the city for the mapping. |
County | The name of the county. |
Public Health District | The name of the public health district for the mapping. |
District | The name of the district. |
State | The two-character state abbreviation for the mapping. |
Zip Code | The zip code for the mapping. |
Edit | Click this button to edit the geographical mapping. See Edit a Geographical Mapping. |
Delete | Click this button to delete the mapping. |
To add a new geographical mapping to the application:
The available fields and options on the Create Mapping page are as follows. All fields are required.
Field | Description |
City * | Select the city from the drop-down list. If the state pre-populated in the State field is incorrect, select the state first and then select the city. |
County * | Select the county from the drop-down list. If the state pre-populated in the State field is incorrect, select the state first and then select the county. |
Public Health District * | Select the public health district from the drop-down list. If the state pre-populated in the State field is incorrect, select the state first and then select the PHD. |
District * | Select the district from the drop-down list. If the state pre-populated in the State field is incorrect, select the state first and then select the district. |
State * | If the pre-populated state is incorrect, select the correct state from the drop-down list. |
Zipcode * | Enter the zip code for the mapping. |
After clicking the Create Mapping button, the Geographical Mapping Management page reopens with the newly added mapping added to the list.
To edit a geographical mapping:
The available fields on the Edit Mapping page are as follows. All fields are required.
