Search for an Outbreak Event
You can search for an outbreak event in three ways on the Outbreak Events
tab:
- Current
Search - Select All Active
Outbreak Events, All Outbreak Events (which includes inactive
events), or one of the custom outbreaks, if listed, from the Current
Search drop-down list
- Basic Outbreak
Event search - The basic outbreak event search is performed
for common outbreak event fields. See Basic
Outbreak Event Search
- Outbreak
Event search using custom form - This search is performed for
specific information about an outbreak event. It can be conducted
in two ways, either searching from an Outbreak Event list or searching
from an Investigation list. See Outbreak

Basic
Outbreak Event Search
To perform a basic search for an outbreak event:
- Click the Home
> Outbreak Events tab.
- Click the Search
button.
- Select the basic outbreak event form from the
Outbreak Event Search drop-down list. The form is displayed on the
bottom of the page.
- Enter the parameters and click Outbreak
Event Search. The main Outbreak Events tab page opens with
the search results displayed.
- To return to the main Outbreak Events tab page,
click the X button.
The available fields and options on the page are as follows:

Last Name |
Enter the patient's last name. |
First Name |
Enter the patient's first name. |
Middle Name |
Enter the patient's middle name. |
Patient's Current Sex |
Enter the current gender of the patient. |
Patient's Date of Birth (From/To) |
Enter the From and To dates for the birthdate range or click
in the field to use the pop-up calendar. |
Ethnicity |
Select one or more patient's ethnicity from the drop-down list. |
Race |
Select one or more races from the list. |

Investigation ID |
Enter the investigation ID. |
Outbreak Event ID |
Enter the outbreak event ID. |
Outbreak Name |
Select one or more outbreak name from the drop-down list. |
Outbreak ID |
Select one or more outbreak ID from the drop-down list. |

Event Search Using a Custom Form
This search can be conducted from the Outbreak Events tab page or the
Investigations tab page.
Search from the Outbreak Events
tab
To conduct a search for any specific information about an outbreak event:
- Click the Home
> Outbreak Events tab.
- Click the Search
button.
- Select the desired outbreak event form from
the Outbreak Event Search drop-down list. After selecting the outbreak
event form, the custom form is displayed on the bottom of the page.
- Enter the parameters and click Outbreak
Event Search. The main Outbreak Events tab page opens with
the search results.
- To return to the main Outbreak Events tab page,
click the X button.
Search from the Investigations
tab
To conduct a search for any specific information about a specific outbreak
event for investigations linked to outbreak events (see Link
an Outbreak Event with an Investigation):
- Click the Home
> Investigations tab.
- Click the Search
button.
- Select the desired outbreak event form from
the Investigation Search drop-down list. After selecting the outbreak
event form, the custom form is displayed on the bottom of the page.
- Enter the parameters and click Search.
The main Investigations tab page opens with the search results.
- To return to the main Investigations tab page,
click the X button.
