Overview: SMaRT AFIX Dashboard

The SMaRT AFIX Overview page provides high-level vaccination coverage data from the National Immunization Surveys (NIS) and targets from Healthy People 2020. Although they are not directly comparable to the rates provided in an AFIX assessment, they serve as benchmarks at the state and national level. The Healthy People 2020, State NIS, and National NIS data sets can be hidden from the graphs by clicking on the name under the report title. For example, the image below shows the report title with the Healthy People 2020 data set turned off (hidden) but the State NIS Coverage and National NIS Coverage data sets turned on:

To open the most recent CDC publication for state and national vaccination coverage in a new browser tab or window, click on any of the bars on either graph (childhood or adolescent).

To return to the Overview page from any other page in the application, click the Overview link in the menu.

Note that the application version number now appears in the lower left-hand corner of every page. In addition, the version numbers for Forecaster, CDSi Forecaster, and the Database are also listed here, if applicable.

To view the graph information in table view, click the Table View icon (Table icon). When a report is exported in table view, the data is exported as it is displayed in the table. (Note that some graphs may not have a table view.) To return to the graph view, click the Graph View icon (Graph View icon).

To print the graph or table, click the Print icon (Print icon).

To export the data to a file, click the Export icon (Export icon) for either report and then click the type of file format to export as. Note that graphs can only be exported in PDF format, while tables can be exported as CSV or XLS formatted files.

Childhood Targets

The Childhood graph and table represent the percentage of children in the 19 through 35 month age range who have been vaccinated with the relevant antigens. The data displayed includes the percentage rate (listed along the left-hand side of the graph), vaccine type (along the bottom), and the Healthy People 2020 targets (diamonds along the top of the graph) and state and national NIS coverage rates (bars on the graph) for the Childhood population. Children adhering to both the routine and catch-up schedules are included in the data.

Hover the mouse over a bar or diamond to view more complete details about the rates for each vaccine type for the population. Click on any bar to open a new browser tab linked to the CDC's MMWR publication for the National Immunization Survey.

To turn off a data point (such as National NIS), click it in the header (under the graph title). Click it again to turn it back on.

Click the Table View icon (Table View icon) to see the childhood data listed in a table with the headers of Vaccine Type, State NIS, National NIS, and Healthy People 2020 Target.

Adolescent Targets

The Adolescent graph and table represent the percentage of children in the 13 through 17 year age range who have been vaccinated with the relevant antigens. The data displayed includes the percentage rate (listed along the left-hand side of the graph), vaccine type (along the bottom), and the Healthy People 2020 targets (diamonds along the top of the graph) and state and national NIS-Teen coverage rates (bars on the graph) for the Adolescent population. Adolescents adhering to both the routine and catch-up schedules are included in the data.

The NIS-Teen data measures Tdap/Meningitis and HPV 1/2/3, and reports by gender for HPV.
