The NETSS and HL7 CDC Export (Arboviral v1.3, Generic v2, Hepatitis v1, and Varicella) are transmission methods for reporting conditions to the CDC. Sentinel keeps track of what information was sent to the CDC and when. Each transmission method sends information to the different CDC departments. For example, if you report a case of Lyme Disease using NETSS and change the condition of the case from Lyme Disease to Chicken Pox, the case is then reported by the Varicella export mode. Both delete and add notifications are sent to the CDC.
Users with the CDC Export permission can view the CDC export history. To view the CDC export history, first click the Home > Investigations tab, then search for the case and/or locate it in the list. Click the Edit button corresponding to the case. The Case Reporting tab page opens. Click the CDC Export History button in the CDC Information section to open the CDC export history. The CDC Export for Investigation ID [Investigation ID #] window opens. Under the list of current entries, the number of entries displayed on the page is listed (for example, Showing 1 to 3 of 3 entries) and on the right side of that line are page number buttons; click the page numbers or the Next or Last button as needed to display additional entries. Click the X button to close the window and return to the Case Reporting tab page.
