Outbreak Event Online Reporting

Online reporting allows an external person, such as a patient, physician or nurse, to access an outbreak event form without logging in to Sentinel. The link can be sent to the patient or a group of people via email.

To configure online reporting for an outbreak event and to activate the no-login physician card link, you first need to create a new user from the User Management page. The user ID for the new user should be EXTERNALONLINEREPORT and the user should be linked to a role that has only the following settings:

Timeout - Set the Timeout field on the Role Management page to 10 minutes or so. Note that as long as someone is working on the page, types or moves the mouse, the page session does not expire
Data Level Access - Set the Data Level Access to None
Set the Locked? field on the Create User page to Yes, so that no one can log in using the EXTERNALONLINEREPORT user ID
