IWeb 5.17.5 School Nurse Module User Guide |
The School Nurse module adds functionality to the IWeb application that supports school nurse activities. Unlike the Mass Immunizations and other modules, however, the School Nurse functions are dictated solely by the different types of school nurse users and access levels:
Depending on the user access (authorization) level, the following tasks can be performed with this module:
The main purpose of the School Nurse module is to provide school nurses access to the SIIS-IWeb application to view patient information such as the vaccinations required for school entry, and the ability to generate annual reports for entities such as the Office of Public Health (OPH). With this module, patients are referred to as students. The options available to each user type depend on the access level and user permissions.
The School Nurse access levels, associated permissions, and school nurse users are required to report on the state-defined grade-level groups and their compliance with school immunization requirements and exemptions.
School Nurse users and students must be associated with schools within the application. School Nurse users can search for students and view patient demographic pages containing the following student information:
Students whose families have elected to opt-out for religious, medical, or personal reasons can be marked as exempt. Exemptions are linked from the demographics page, providing the School Nurse user with the ability to indicate vaccination exemptions for the student. If the school nurse indicates an exemption, the student's vaccination record is not included in counts of completeness on the reports.
For School Nurse users, the application includes the following menu options:
