IWeb 5.17.5 School Nurse Module User Guide |
The School Nurse Vaccinations menu allows users to view, add, forecast, and summarize vaccination information for students. Specifically, from this menu you can complete the following tasks:
Of note, when the Administration > Settings > Properties > Enable Vaccine Administration Permission option is enabled, users with the School Nurse Vaccine Administrator permission can administer vaccines and record historical vaccinations from their School Nurse login. With this permission, they have full edit/delete permissions on vaccines entered by their organization, and vaccines they administer do not show as "unverified."
The School Nurse Vaccinations menu has three links, each of which is only accessible after a patient has been selected:
For more information about viewing and adding vaccinations, see the View/Add/Edit Vaccinations topic in the Vaccinations chapter in the IWeb User Guide.
NOTE: Unless otherwise stated by state-specific school entry requirements, the ACIP schedule indicates that in order for a child to get into school, the child must receive four doses of IPV unless the third dose is given on or after the fourth birthday. |
NOTE: Only DTap Hib, HepB, MMR, ILPV, and Varicella are forecasted for School Nurse users. |
The vaccination forecast option is used to view the shots that are due for a specific student, their recommended dates, and their status. Forecasting reflects the following situations:

The Measles is complete, so it no longer shows in the forecasting. However, MMR #1 is still not satisfied, so it remains in forecasting. Mumps and Rubella are not displayed, since the student has not yet received any of those antigens. | |

All of the intervals for two doses can be met, so the MMR series is complete and all of the vaccines are removed from forecasting. |
The vaccinations selected in Administration > Settings > Forecast determine the vaccines that display on the student's forecast. This is a global setting and the same vaccinations display for every student.
There are two types of schedules: regular and accelerated. Based on the student's existing vaccinations, the application automatically switches between the schedules to get the child up to date as recommended by the CDC. Note that, unless otherwise stated by state-specific school entry requirements, the ACIP schedule indicates that in order for a child to get into school, they must receive four doses of IPV, unless the third dose is given on or after the fourth birthday.
For information on how to view the vaccination forecast, see the Vaccination Forecasts topic in the IWeb User Guide.
The vaccination summary feature groups vaccinations by vaccine family and is used to view the vaccination series or single antigens of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella completion. An example of a series is DTap/DTP/DT/Td. All childhood vaccines display on the Vaccination Summary.
If a student receives the single antigen vaccines, they appear in various places such as the Universal Certificate and the Vaccination Summary, Vaccination View/Add page print, Patient Record Summary, and Patient Record pages. It can also be used as a printable report for a student's vaccinations.
Note that as an option, the Forecast can display on this page, if configured by the state. Referred to the previous section for information about the Forecast.
For information on how to view the Vaccination Summary, see that topic in the IWeb User Guide.
