Manual ELR

The Manual ELR page allows you to add or append information to an existing case or create a new case with an electronic lab report.

Users with the Manual ELRs permission can send an electronic lab report manually to the system. To submit an electronic lab reports manually, click the ELR - CDC Reporting > Manual ELR menu link. The Manual ELR servlet window opens in another browser window or tab. Enter a valid HL7 message with a valid lab observation mapping and click the Submit button. The information is submitted and a new browser tab or window opens with the log report.

The available fields, options, and buttons on the Manual ELR page as follows:

Field/Option/Button	Description
Message Data	Enter a valid HL7 message with a valid lab observation mapping.
Deduplicate	Select this option to automatically deduplicate as the information is submitted.
Debug	Select this option to debug the HL7 message as it is submitted. View the log report for errors and warnings.
Submit	Click this button to submit the HL7 message.

If the HL7 message is transmitted successfully, one of the following occurs:

The case is created with an electronic lab report and displayed in the case list on the main Investigation tab page. You can view or edit the case details by clicking the View or Edit button for the specific case. See View/Edit Case Details
The case is queued in the pending work queue. To resolve the case or manually assign a condition to the case, click the Pending Work Queue tab. See Pending Work Queue Tab
