Peri HepB 1.17.11 User Guide |
Introduction to Peri HepB
The Perinatal Hepatitis B Case Manager
(or Peri HepB, for short) application runs on a web browser (such as Internet
Explorer or Firefox) and is used for tracking and surveillance of perinatal Hepatitis B.
All pregnant women should be tested for the Hepatitis B virus (HBV)
early in their pregnancy. If the blood test is positive, the baby should
receive the vaccine, along with another shot, hepatitis B immune globulin
(HBIG), at birth. The second dose of vaccine should be given at 1-2 months
of age, and the third dose at 6 months of age.
The Perinatal Hepatitis B Case Manager application works with any bi-directional
immunization information system (IIS) with the updated HL7. The application
requires Internet Explorer version 11.0 or later, and an internet connection.
Features of the application include:
- Activity
Tracker - Allows the user to create his or her own activity
tracker that can then be utilized at the local level. See Activity
Tracker.
- Case Search
- Offers an expanded case search that provides the user with the ability
to search for a mother or child and then conveniently contact either
each case together or separately. See Case
Search.
- Report Functions
- Strengthens report functions and provides filters to the Case and
Estimated Delivery Date (EDD), Action Reports, and extended filtering
export functionality. See Reports.
- Reminder/Recall
- Enables targeting (or exclusion) of providers, infants, and contacts
to receive a reminder/recall in a defined period of time. See Reminder/Recall.
- Stand-alone
Forecaster - Mimics IIS forecasts of Hepatitis B vaccinations
and updates serology forecasting with CDC guidelines that reflect
the most recent MMWR release.
- Mother and
Infant Case Management - Provides the capability to add
new information to both mother and child cases, allowing for additional
associated controls, and includes a numbering system for infant cases
and a guardian information section. See Manage
Mother Cases, Manage Infant Cases,
and Manage Contact Cases.
Depending on your user access level (authorization level)
and your specific state's use of the application, the following can be
performed:
- Create new cases
- Enter mother and infant information
- Enter contact information
- Enter miscellaneous notes
- Run reports
- Enter system administrative information such
as facility and provider details, manage user accounts, set system
properties, and run annual CDC reports
- Create user accounts (usernames and passwords)
